Chris Shi
Math and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
Hi, I’m Chris Shi (also known as Hongyi Shi), an undergraduate studying math and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).
This is a personal blog about infrastructure and math, sometimes both. Biodefense, interpretability, automation.
I’m fascinated by the geometry and hardware of thinking: mech interp and asics. I’m currently researching mechanistic interpretability for in-context learning and pretraining. I’m also interested in optimal transport and high dimensional probability. For fun, I work on animating robots (like these).
