Hi, I’m Chris Shi (also known as Hongyi Shi).
This is a personal blog about infrastructure and math, sometimes both. Biodefense, interpretability, automation.
I work on the theory and hardware of intelligence. I believe there’s a class of intelligent algorithms — perhaps a single “intelligence equation” — of which all the phenomena we observe are special cases. I’m interested in optimal transport, high-dimensional geometry, and building non-classical computers. I think a lot about what a post-invention-scarcity society looks like, and I would love to talk to you about safely stewarding autoresearch-related technologies!
